Another wonderful central Florida Spring Month has come & gone....MFGRC is getting into high gear for the Coming Months with lots of activities & events to participate in & enjoy!!!
We just had a successful Sanctioned A Tracking Match, which was not only lots of fun.. but very educational! I got plenty of 'hands on' experience last weekend actually laying 2 tracks for the dogs & getting to handle one of the Judges dogs, Gus, on a Track... I felt right at home 'in the Field' even though it was a 'wild ride' when Gus picked up the 'Track' & off we went...Joyce Swegle did a fabulous job, both Chairing & being Secretary to the event & I look forward to being Licensed by AKC & having our first AKC Tracking Test!
For MFGRC's May 17th General Meeting, we will be in Astatula At Bob & Suzi Denis' 'Stanley Pond Tree Farm'. Directions are on our website www.mfgrc.org. The Denis' have 2 'Lizard free' ponds for our dogs to splash around in.. & I'll have some birds & wingers on hand for a bit of field work & introduction to field work for our dogs!! The Fun starts at 10:30.. General Meeting & POT LUCK Lunch at noon!!!
At the Lakeland Shows, June 7th & 8th, MFGRC is conducting Our Eye & Heart Clinic...Camille Doehring is Chairing the Clinic & still needs Members to help out.. Please contact her for all of the details!!! mischiefgolden@juno.com
June is MFGRC's Specialty month...Joanne Hell is Chairing this event & still needs volunteers...Especially for Clean-up!!! The date is Thursday, June 19th at the Orlando Fair Grounds.. At the end of the Specialty we have a wonderful catered Dinner & it's a Great way to end a very Busy Day!!! Please contact Joanne tohell@msn.com. I would like to 'Thank' those of you that have sponsored a Trophy for the Specialty!!! We still have some Trophies available to be Sponsored - for both the Specialty & Supported Entry... This is a Great way for you non-activists to really help out your Club...& I would personally love to see the Cute Little 'Golden' reach the top of the 'A' frame before June first!!!
